Dear families,
We started off our week with a trip to the Zeiterion Theater to see the New Bedford Symphony play. It was the final portion of our animal motion in music program and students had the opportunity to hear some of their own musical compositions played by a live symphony orchestra! We also spent time on Monday with Mrs. Martin's kindergarten class. Buddies participated in winter themed activities and enjoyed spending time together. Then on Wednesday, we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday! To celebrate, the whole lower school spent time during the day reading Dr. Seuss books. In our classroom, students built forts out of their desks and made comfy reading spots to enjoy Dr. Seuss' books.
In other class news, Austa's mother will be going to Rwanda at the end of April. In the days leading up to her trip, she and Austa will be collecting sneakers for the Rwandan Orphanage Project. Austa has put large collection boxes at both entrances of the school. If you have any unwanted sneakers that are still in good condition, please consider donating them. She is accepting sneakers for children ages 4-17. Thank you.
Looking Ahead:
Grandfriends’ Day is May 6th. It is a way to foster connections for our students with adults beyond the immediate family, particularly those across generations. Grandparents or family friends are invited to join students in their classrooms. Invitations are mailed directly from Friends Academy and will be sent out right after Spring Break. Please make sure you have returned forms with new and updated contact information prior to the Break. You can emailJodi Pink at [email protected] if you have any questions about your invite list. Note: Grandfriends’ Day is a half-day and all students will be dismissed at noon.

Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday!
