Dear families,
This week was Authorfest and The Book Fair. On Tuesday, author and two-time Grammy winning artist Bill Harley spent the day at Friends Academy! The third grade enjoyed hearing Bill's exciting and humorous storytelling and music. Then on Wednesday, students visited the book fair and spent time exploring the shelves of new books together and picking out their favorites to add to their book "wish lists."
Also this week, third graders met with their kindergarten buddies in Mrs. Martin's class. The two classes worked on spirit T-shirts and banners for the upcoming Turkey Trot! We are looking forward to cheering each other on during the races next Tuesday. The Turkey Trot will begin at 1:30 and last until 3:00. Each grade has their own approximate starting time and third grade's is at 2:20. Parents are welcome to join us for this fun event!
