Dear families,
Thank you for joining us last night at the Spring Concert! It was wonderful seeing so many of you there.
The weather was amazing this week, and it was perfect for our field trip to the Slocum's River Preserve on Monday. At the preserve, third graders enjoyed a nature walk and learned about adaptations in nature. The lesson focused on leaves. Students learned that some leaves fall in the autumn and other types of leaves remain on plants year round. They learned why leaves are shaped in different ways and how the different shaped leaves help the plants. After exploring the woods and collecting and documenting examples of different leaves, students did leaf rubbings that they were able to bring home with them.
Looking ahead...
May 26 is Movie Night.
